Nestled in the smoky mountains of Gatlinburg, TN, The Park Vista was host to the 2019 TN HFMA Fall Institute. Pam Jones and Amanda Hoffmeister were co-chair of the event. Attendees gave back in two ways: giving blood and/or donating broken or used crayons for The Crayon Initiative. 19 individuals gave blood saving 57 lives. 22.3 pounds of crayons were collected. The traditional Kurt Swersky Memorial BBQ was held at Mynatt Park where attendees enjoyed bbq, bluegrass and friends. Special thanks to Wakefield and Associates for hosting the bbq. Casino Night with Cupcakes and Cocktails hosted by ApprioHealth followed the bbq. Guests played their hand at blackjack, roulette and craps. Education was the winner with topics ranging from denials, revenue cycle and financial toxicity. Tina Minnick, TN HFMA President opened the institute with awards followed by HFMA's Aaron Crane who gave an update from the Association. University of Tennessee All-American and Denver Broncos Pro-bowler, Al Wilson wrapped up the sessions with a message on leadership.
